Guidelines for Emeritus Fellow Award

The appellation "Emeritus Fellow" will be conferred by invitation from the Regional Board on Fellows and Associate Fellows who finally retire from full time active employment and/or when they reach the age of sixty five (65) years.

Active employment is defined as more than 15/20 hours per week continuous employment.  In other words if a member is still working say 21 hours per week they have not retired.  If a member is working say 12 hours per week then by this definition they have retired from full-time active employment and would qualify for the award. (Divisions can exercise their discretion here).

In conferring the appellation "Emeritus Fellow" it is expected that recipients will be competent and willing to act as a mentor and coach to NZIM and to offer their experience and wisdom to the younger members of NZIM and thereby contribute to the life of NZIM by giving back their skills and knowledge.
